The event started with fun and entertainment, that was followed by a program at 6:30 p.m. led by lead builder Sam Clifton and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” executives. The pep rally featured local performers and dignitaries, and the Area Firefighters Christmas for Kids Project hosted a toy drive. Participants were encouraged to bring a new toy donation.
I was late to this event, but was so excited to finally arrive. They introduced the design team, the builders, etc. I had been shooting pictures for myself when someone came up and chatted with me. At the end of the conversation this person had asked if I would be interested in helping take pictures the week of the build. I said, "YES!" It was a prayer answered because It was one of the things I had signed up to do.
