I was up at around 4:30 a.m. to get ready to head to the first location for the Howard family surprise. It was dark and cold, bright lights were shining and when I arrived the crew was there setting up lighting, video, etc. Sam Champion (National Weatherman) was reporting the weather live from Joplin. We were located about two blocks from the Howard family's home.
